This page is the gateway to the games that were played in our tournaments held in 2005. Our organization grew during this year, and we saw many changes both in how and where we run our tournaments. The events described here capture some of that flavor. Our January 2005 tournament started off the new year with a Swiss. It was our strongest tournaments to date. Check it out. Our February 2005 tournament was a Quad attended by twenty six players, five of whom had never played with us before. In March we played our 2005 Annual Championship tournament. There were 52 competitors in attendance. The games are posted, with some analysis. For the April 2005 tournament we has a Quad event with forty-six players. The results are posted on the wall chart displayed, but we don't have the games available yet. The May 2005 tournament was a Swiss with thirty players. The results are posted on the wall chart displayed, but we don't have the games available yet. Our June 2005 tournament was the Scott Silverman Memorial Quad, where we raised $268 for the American Heart Association. We have most of the games posted, though not all have analysis. The September 2005 tournament was a Swiss attended by twenty four players. This event was divided into two section, with a strong top section with players rated between 1512 and 1958, average 1675. Players in the other section were all below 1400, with half being unrated. The October 2005 tournament was intended to be a Quad, but low attendance made converting to a Swiss a better choice, and everyone agreed to this change. The Midwest Class Championship was the same weekend, and problems prevented our normal email notice from going out. We're hoping the November tournament brings back our usual number of entrants. The November 2005 tournament was a Swiss as originally intended. Attendance was excellent. Our final tournament of the year was the December 2005 tournament. This was a slightly quicker Quad followed by a five round, double gamed Blitz tourney. Player feedback was positive and we will have other such events in the future.
