McHenry Area Chess 2005 Championship/Elgin (2) 2005

This game is interesting to see because of what develops - or rather, what doesn't develop!

1. e3 e6 2. d4 d5 3. Nf3 Bd6 4. Bd3 g6 5. a3 f6 Interesting, but Black needs to develop something. 6. Bd2 e5 7. O-O Bg4 7... e4 wins a piece. 8. Be2 Bxf3 9. Bxf3 c6 10. Bb4 Bxb4 11. axb4 h5 11 moves per side and only one piece is developed! 12. c3 b6 13. Nd2 a5 Black's non development only becomes a real problem after this move, which creates a weakness on a5. 14. bxa5 bxa5 Now White has a serious advantage. 15. Ra4 Nd7 16. Qb3 Ne7 17. e4 Rb8 18.
