If you're not already a member of McHenry Area Chess, we encourage you to join us. There is no fee to be a member of McHenry Area Chess. Benefits of membership are semi-periodic email newsletter, which is free, if I ever write more of them. Other membership benefits include the right to vote for the group's offices and to run for office. Most importantly, members may also borrow books from our library, and include their biographies on this page. Our library is a superb resource that's underutilized. We beat the public libraries in chess hands down. Frankly, to be honest, we don't vote for officers. And you don't have to run for office - just walk up to me and say you'd like to help and you're elected. What could be simpler? We could sure use the help, whatever it is. Click the link for a membership form in Microsoft Word format. Click here for a plain text form if you don't have Word. (Better yet, skip the form and just show up a tourney or at the Borders Bookstore in Crystal Lake Tuesday evening. Introduce yourself and have a game. Here are some pictures of our members playing in the Borders Bookstore in Crystal Lake
Here are profiles or some of our members. We encourage members to submit brief biographical sketches of themselves to foster a sense of community among our players.

We have been forced to remove the automatic contact form because of an excess of spam, hundreds of emails per day. To prevent this, we are providing a link that will bring up an email form, with our address spoofed by an X in front of our real email address. Simply remove this X to create our real email address, then send it to us. We apologize for the extra effort required, but that's life in the internet age. Send email to McHenry Area Chess
